Rate: Travel: $1,523/36-hours

Requirements

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license for the practicing state
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician guidance: medication administration, wound care, vital signs monitoring
  • Perform patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately per orders and protocols
  • Assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds/incisions for infection or complications
  • Monitor and document vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respirations) and changes in condition
  • Maintain complete, accurate patient records including treatments and medication administration
  • Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, self-care, and preventive measures
  • Initiate and monitor IV therapy and IV medications; ensure IV line integrity
  • Manage urinary catheter care (insertion, maintenance, monitoring for complications)
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team (RNs, physicians, therapists, support staff) to coordinate care
  • Assist with patient comfort, positioning, mobility, and pain management
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide basic life support as needed
  • Follow infection control practices and use PPE appropriately
  • Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies according to regulations
  • Advocate for patient rights and needs within the care team
  • Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned
  • Maintain professional competence through continuing education
  • Other duties as assigned by management
