LPN/LVN Licensed Practical Nurse — Long-Term Care (Clovis, NM)

Schedule: Mon–Wed, 6:00 PM–6:30 AM | Compensation: Local: $1,242/36 hours

Requirements:

• Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
• BLS certification

Overview:
Provide hands-on nursing care under RN or physician direction in a fast-paced clinical setting. Deliver safe, evidence-based care while supporting patient comfort, safety, and education.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately, following protocols and documenting administration.
• Monitor and record vital signs, recognizing and reporting changes in patient condition.
• Provide wound care: evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor for infection or complications.
• Manage IV therapy and urinary catheters as indicated, ensuring proper function and monitoring for issues.
• Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing.
• Maintain complete, timely documentation of care, observations, and interventions.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
• Support patient mobility, positioning, comfort measures, and basic pain management.
• Respond to emergencies using established protocols and BLS as needed.
• Follow strict infection control practices, proper PPE use, and safe handling/disposal of medications and supplies.
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs, and support staff to ensure coordinated care; may supervise CNAs/UAPs when assigned.
• Advocate for patients’ needs and rights and participate in ongoing professional development.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
