Location: Rochester, NH | Type: Contract (Non-Travel) | Start: ASAP | Duration: 12 weeks
Schedule: Sun, Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat • 3:00 PM–11:00 PM
Rate: Local: $1,548/40-hours

We’re looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse to join the team for a 12-week contract in Rochester. You’ll provide hands-on nursing care, support patients and families, and work closely with RNs, physicians, and other care team members to ensure safe, compassionate care.

Requirements

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse state license
  • Current BLS certification

What you’ll do
Patient care

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN or physician direction, including medication administration, wound care, and routine vital signs.
  • Perform focused patient assessments—review histories, meds, and conduct physical checks—to help develop individualized care plans.
  • Support patient comfort and mobility, assist with positioning, and help manage pain.

Treatments and procedures

  • Administer medications and treatments accurately and follow established protocols.
  • Assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds, incisions, and other injuries for signs of infection or complications.
  • Start, monitor, and maintain IV lines and infuse IV medications/fluids as required.
  • Manage urinary catheters (insertion, maintenance, and monitoring) and collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing.

Monitoring and documentation

  • Continually monitor and record vital signs—blood pressure, pulse, temp, respirations—and document changes in condition.
  • Keep clear, accurate patient records of treatments, medications, and clinical observations.

Communication and patient education

  • Teach patients and families about diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
  • Serve as a patient advocate to help ensure appropriate care and support.

Safety, infection control, and compliance

  • Follow infection control practices, including hand hygiene and PPE use.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of meds and supplies according to policy and regulations.
  • Respond quickly in emergencies and provide basic life support when needed.

Teamwork and supervision

  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care.
  • When applicable, assist with supervising CNAs or other unlicensed assistive personnel to promote high-quality care.

Professional growth and other duties

  • Stay current with nursing standards, policies, and continuing education.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
