Rate: Travel: $1,649/36-hours

Requirements:

  • Active, valid LPN license for the practicing state
  • BLS certification

Primary responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction: medication administration, wound care, vital signs, and basic treatments.
  • Perform patient assessments (history, physical, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately and per protocol.
  • Assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds and incisions for complications or infection.
  • Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient condition.
  • Maintain accurate, timely patient records of assessments, treatments, and medications.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and self-care.
  • Administer and monitor IV medications/fluids; ensure IV line function and site care.
  • Provide catheter care, including insertion (where allowed), maintenance, and monitoring for complications.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing.
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care.
  • Assist with patient comfort, positioning, mobility, and pain management.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide basic life support as needed.
  • Follow infection control practices and proper use of PPE.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies according to regulations.
  • Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and support health assessments.
  • Advocate for patient rights and coordinate appropriate resources.
  • Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by management.
