Travel LPN (Long Term Care) — Lewiston, ME | $1,649/36-hr | 19-Week Contract, ASAP Start

We’re looking for an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse to join a contract/travel assignment in Lewiston, ME. This role starts ASAP, runs for 19 weeks, and follows a shift from 06:45 AM to 07:15 PM. Compensation is Travel: $1,649/36-hours.

Basic requirements:

• Active, valid LPN license for the state
• BLS certification

What you’ll be doing:
You’ll provide hands-on nursing care under RN or physician direction, including medication administration, wound care, and vital signs monitoring. You’ll perform patient assessments—reviewing histories, medications, and conducting physical exams—to help develop individualized care plans. Accurate medication and treatment administration is essential, as is diligent documentation of patient status, treatments given, and any changes in condition.

Clinical duties include wound assessment and dressing changes, IV medication/fluid administration and line care, catheter care, and collecting specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing. You’ll monitor vitals closely, watch for signs of infection or complications, and respond quickly to emergencies, providing basic life support as needed.

You’ll also collaborate with the care team—RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff—to ensure coordinated, safe patient care. Patient and family education is part of the role: you’ll explain conditions, medications, and self-care techniques to support recovery and wellness. Additionally, you’ll promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings), follow strict infection-control practices (hand hygiene, PPE), and safely handle and dispose of medications and supplies.

Sometimes you may supervise CNAs or other unlicensed assistive personnel to help deliver high-quality care. You’ll be expected to stay current with nursing best practices and complete required training. Other duties may be assigned by management as needed.
