We’re seeking an experienced LPN to join a team in Lewiston, ME on a 19-week contract starting ASAP. This is a travel opportunity with a pay rate of $1,649 for a 36-hour period. The shift runs roughly 06:45 AM to 07:15 PM.

What you’ll need:

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse state license
  • BLS certification

What you’ll do:
You’ll provide hands-on nursing care under the direction of RNs and physicians—everything from administering medications and monitoring vitals to wound care and IV therapy. You’ll perform focused assessments, document changes in condition, and help develop and follow individualized care plans. Patient education and family communication are important parts of the role, as is advocating for patient needs and promoting preventive care.

Daily duties include:

  • Administering medications and treatments accurately and following protocols
  • Monitoring and recording vital signs and changes in patient condition
  • Assessing, cleaning, dressing, and monitoring wounds for infection or complications
  • Inserting and maintaining IVs and urinary catheters, and monitoring for issues
  • Collecting specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing
  • Providing mobility assistance, positioning, and comfort measures, including pain management
  • Responding to emergencies using established protocols and basic life support when needed
  • Following infection control practices, including proper PPE use and hand hygiene
  • Safely handling, storing, and disposing of medications and supplies
  • Collaborating with the healthcare team—RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff—to ensure coordinated care
  • Educating patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care
  • Occasionally supervising CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel, when required
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation
  • Participating in ongoing education to stay current with nursing best practices
