LPN/LVN Licensed Practical Nurse – Long Term Care (Belen, NM) - 8-Week Contract, Nights

Join our team in Belen, NM for an 8-week contract (non-travel) as a Licensed Practical Nurse. This position starts ASAP with shifts Sun, Mon, and Sat, 6:00 PM–6:30 AM. Compensation: $1,120 per 36-hour week.

Requirements

• Active, valid LPN license for the state of New Mexico
• BLS certification

Core responsibilities

• Provide direct bedside nursing care under RN/physician direction, including medication administration, wound care, and vital signs monitoring.
• Perform focused patient assessments (physical exams, medical history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
• Administer and document medications, IV therapies, and treatments in accordance with policy and dosage orders.
• Assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds and incisions for signs of infection or complications.
• Monitor and record vital signs, changes in condition, and interventions in the medical record.
• Collect and prepare specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing.
• Provide catheter care and monitor for complications; assist with mobility, positioning, and comfort measures.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health practices.
• Respond to emergencies and provide basic life support per protocol.
• Follow strict infection control practices and safe handling, storage, and disposal of medications and supplies.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (RNs, physicians, therapists, support staff) to ensure coordinated care.
• Supervise and delegate to CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel as required.
• Advocate for patient rights and participate in ongoing professional development.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
