Required credentials:

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
• BLS certification

Overview:
Provide direct patient care under RN or physician oversight in a clinical setting. Deliver safe, accurate nursing interventions, maintain documentation, support patient education, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform patient assessments (physical exams, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments per orders, ensuring correct dosing and documentation.
• Provide wound care: assess, clean, dress, and monitor for infection or complications.
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes in patient condition.
• Manage IV therapy and urinary catheter care as indicated.
• Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing.
• Maintain accurate, timely patient records and medication administration logs.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
• Assist with mobility, positioning, comfort measures, and pain management.
• Respond to emergencies, providing basic life support and following facility protocols.
• Follow infection control practices and proper handling, storage, and disposal of medications and supplies.
• Advocate for patients’ rights and coordinate care with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff.
• Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when applicable.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and perform other duties as assigned by management.
