Rate: Local: $1,184 / 36 hours

Overview:
Seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for a 9-week contract in Marlinton, WV. The LPN will provide direct patient care under RN or physician direction, ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate nursing services across a range of clinical duties.

Required:

  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
  • BLS certification

Core responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct nursing care, including medication administration, wound care, and vital signs monitoring.
  • Conduct patient assessments (physical exams, medical history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately and in compliance with protocols.
  • Assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds/incisions for signs of infection or complications.
  • Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient status.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records, documenting treatments and condition changes.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
  • Administer and monitor IV medications and fluids; ensure proper IV line function.
  • Provide urinary catheter care, including insertion support, maintenance, and complication monitoring.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing as needed.
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care.
  • Support patient safety and comfort through positioning, mobility assistance, and pain management.
  • Respond to emergencies per established protocols and provide basic life support when required.
  • Adhere to infection control practices and proper use of PPE.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of medications and medical supplies safely and in compliance with regulations.
  • Advocate for patient needs and participate in ongoing professional development and training.
  • Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when delegated and appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

This position requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and effective teamwork to ensure high-quality patient care.
