Location: Falmouth, ME | Type: Contract (Non-Travel) | Duration: 12 weeks | Start: ASAP
Schedule: Sun, Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat — 2:45 PM–11:15 PM | Rate: Local $1,244/40 hrs

Position overview:
Provide direct nursing care under RN or physician oversight in an outpatient or facility setting. Deliver safe, patient-centered care through assessment, treatment, documentation, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

Required qualifications:

  • Active, valid LPN state license
  • BLS certification

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform patient assessments (history, physical findings, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately, following protocols and documenting administration.
  • Monitor and record vital signs and changes in patient condition; maintain clear, timely charting.
  • Provide wound care: evaluate, cleanse, dress, and monitor for infection or complications.
  • Manage IV therapy and urinary catheters as indicated, ensuring proper insertion, maintenance, and monitoring.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing.
  • Assist with patient mobility, positioning, comfort measures, and pain management.
  • Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and self-care to support recovery and prevention.
  • Respond to emergencies using established protocols and basic life support as needed.
  • Adhere to infection control practices, PPE use, and safe medication/supply handling and disposal.
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs, and support staff to coordinate care; may supervise CNAs/UAPs when assigned.
  • Promote preventive care and patient advocacy.
  • Maintain professional competency through ongoing education and perform other duties as assigned by management.
