We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for a 16-week contract in Rio Rancho, NM. This is a local, non-travel assignment with an ASAP start.

Assignment details

  • Type: Contract / Non-Travel
  • Location: Rio Rancho, NM
  • Duration: 16 weeks
  • Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday • 6:00 PM–6:30 AM
  • Rate: $1,120 per 36-hour week

Required credentials

  • Active LPN license in the state of New Mexico
  • BLS certification

Core responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN or physician supervision, including medication administration, wound care, IV management, and vital sign monitoring.
  • Perform patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer and document prescribed medications and treatments accurately and per protocol.
  • Assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds and incisions for signs of infection or complications.
  • Monitor and record vital signs and other clinical findings; maintain accurate patient records and report changes in condition.
  • Collect and prepare specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing.
  • Provide catheter care and oversee urinary device maintenance and monitoring.
  • Support patient comfort, mobility, positioning, and pain management; respond to emergencies using established protocols and BLS skills.
  • Follow infection control policies and proper use of PPE; handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies safely.
  • Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care to support recovery and preventive health.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (RNs, physicians, therapists, support staff) to coordinate care.
  • When applicable, supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel to ensure high-quality care.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and comply with regulatory and facility standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
