LPN/LVN Night Shift - Long Term Care (Gettysburg, PA)

We’re seeking a reliable LPN to join a team in Gettysburg, PA for a 10-week contract starting ASAP. This is a local, non-travel position on the night shift (11:00 PM–7:30 AM) with a rate of $1,043 for 32 hours. What you’ll be doing:

• Provide direct nursing care under RN or physician guidance, including medication administration, wound care, and vital sign monitoring.
• Perform focused patient assessments—reviewing histories, medications, and physical findings—to help develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and according to protocols.
• Manage wounds and incisions: clean, dress, assess for signs of infection or other complications.
• Monitor and document vital signs (BP, pulse, temp, respirations) and changes in condition.
• Maintain accurate patient records, charting treatments, medications, and observations.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
• Start, monitor, and maintain IVs and IV medications where applicable.
• Care for patients with urinary catheters, including insertion, upkeep, and complication monitoring.
• Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing as needed.
• Work collaboratively with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs, and support staff to coordinate safe, effective care.
• Assist with patient comfort, mobility, positioning, and pain management.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and provide basic life support as appropriate.
• Follow infection control practices, including hand hygiene and PPE use.
• Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies according to policy and regulations.
• Advocate for patient rights and needs, and support preventive care like vaccinations and screenings.
• Stay current with nursing best practices through ongoing education and training.
• Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Required credentials:

• Valid, active Licensed Practical Nurse state license
• Current BLS certification
