Location: Saint Johnsbury, VT | Start: ASAP | Duration: 13 weeks | Schedule: Nights, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM | Rate: Travel pay $1,422 per 36 hours

We are seeking a reliable Licensed Practical Nurse for a 13-week contract in Saint Johnsbury. This role delivers direct patient care under RN or physician supervision, prioritizing safety, accuracy, and compassionate service in a fast-paced setting.

Required qualifications

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse state license
  • Current BLS certification

Core responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care, including medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, catheter care, and monitoring of vital signs
  • Conduct focused patient assessments (physical exams, histories, medication reviews) and contribute to individualized care plans
  • Administer and document medications and treatments accurately, following protocols and regulations
  • Evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor wounds and surgical sites for signs of infection or complications
  • Insert, monitor, and maintain IV lines; collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing
  • Maintain accurate, timely patient records, reporting changes in condition and treatments
  • Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures
  • Assist with patient comfort, mobility, positioning, and pain management; respond to emergencies and provide BLS as needed
  • Follow infection control practices and proper handling, storage, and disposal of medications and supplies
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs, and support staff to ensure coordinated care; may supervise CNAs/UAPs when assigned
  • Advocate for patient rights and participate in ongoing professional development
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
