LPN/LVN - 10-Week Contract Night Shift in Gettysburg, PA — LTC, $1,018/32-hr Local Rate

Join us in Gettysburg, PA for a 10-week, contract (non-travel) opportunity starting ASAP. This is a local evening shift (3:00 PM–11:30 PM) with a 32-hour schedule and a pay rate of $1,018 for the assignment.

What we’re looking for

• Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll provide hands-on nursing care under the direction of RNs and physicians, focusing on safe, patient-centered practices. Typical duties include:

• Performing patient assessments (physical exams, medical history, medication reviews) to help develop and update individualized care plans.
• Administering medications and treatments accurately, following protocols for dosing and documentation.
• Monitoring and recording vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration) and reporting changes in condition.
• Wound care: evaluating, cleaning, dressing, and monitoring wounds for signs of infection or complications.
• Managing IV therapy when applicable—monitoring lines, fluids, and IV medications safely.
• Caring for patients with urinary catheters, including insertion, maintenance, and monitoring for issues.
• Collecting specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing as needed.
• Providing basic comfort and safety measures—positioning, mobility assistance, and pain management.
• Responding to emergencies quickly and effectively, providing BLS as required.
• Educating patients and families about diagnoses, medications, and self-care to support recovery and wellness.
• Promoting preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and supporting health assessments.
• Maintaining accurate, timely documentation of patient status, interventions, and medication administration.
• Following strict infection control practices and proper use of PPE.
• Handling, storing, and disposing of medications and supplies per policy and regulations.
• Collaborating with the healthcare team—including RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff—to ensure coordinated care.
• Advocating for patients’ needs and rights within the care setting.
• Potentially supervising CNAs or other unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
• Completing other duties as directed by management and staying current with best practices through ongoing training.
