Join a collaborative Medical Oncology team in Grand Rapids, MI as a locum tenens physician covering both outpatient and inpatient care. This is a supplemental, ongoing assignment that starts ASAP and includes clinical duties plus call. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with weekday evening beeper call on a 1-in-5 rotation. You’ll also participate in hospital rounding and phone consults.

What your week looks like

• Outpatient: high-volume clinic (approximately 816 patient visits per day) with support from five outpatient APPs.
• Inpatient: average census of 22 across two hospitals; you’ll supervise five inpatient APPs and share rounding responsibilities.
• Case mix is roughly 60% hematology (including general/benign hematology) and 40% oncology, with a primary focus on lung cancer.
• You’ll perform procedures such as FNA/biopsy, order tests and imaging, prescribe medications, and participate in tumor board.

Team and support

• Six physicians in the practice with specialty backup available in breast, lung (at a different location), GI, GU, and neuro oncology.
• Support staff: five inpatient APPs and five outpatient APPs.
• EMR: Epic.
• Hospital privileges required.

Logistics and coverage

• Coverage type: clinical plus call (beeper).
• Call schedule: weekday evenings, 1 in 5 rotation.
• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are provided.

Requirements

• Board certified or board eligible (BC/BE) in Medical Oncology.
• Active Michigan medical license or willingness to obtain one.
