Join a busy acute care hospital in Boise, ID, providing continuous anesthesia coverage in a supportive, team-based environment. This locum tenens role begins April 6, 2026, with ongoing start dates (next available May 4, 2026) and prefers a contract of 6 months to 1 year. Multiple positions are open for continuous coverage.

Schedule and coverage

  • Clinical: 40 hours per week with a rotating mix of 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts.
  • Call: One weekend call per month and two weeknight calls per month; call is in-house/beeper with callback per facility schedule.
  • Coverage type: Clinical shifts plus call responsibilities.

Patients and cases

  • Patient mix: Adolescents through geriatrics (majority 12+); includes healthy pediatric cases.
  • Case types: General surgery, orthopedics, spine, crani, plastics, GI, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, MRI cases.
  • Admissions, rounding, and phone consults are part of the role.

Facility highlights

  • 378-bed hospital, Level II trauma center.
  • Full surgical services with anesthesia technicians and scrub staff available.
  • OR anesthesia equipment on site; Epic EMR used for documentation.
  • Reason for coverage: continuous full-time anesthesia support.

Scope and procedures

  • Provide supervision-based anesthesia across multiple specialties.
  • Comfortable managing Level II trauma cases.
  • Common procedures include spinal anesthesia and general OR cases (note: excludes OB, burns, transplants, and open heart).
  • Supervision model may be up to 4:1.

Credentials and requirements

  • Idaho nursing license required (assistance available for licensing if needed).
  • NBCRNA certification and DEA required; Idaho CSR required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience preferred (6 months will be considered).
  • Facility-specific certifications as required.

Credentialing timeline

  • If already licensed: approximately 30–45 days.
  • If licensing required: approximately 90–120 days.

Daily responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, high-quality anesthesia care across assigned cases.
  • Participate in scheduled clinical shifts and assigned call duties.
  • Document care accurately in Epic and follow facility policies and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with surgical teams and support staff to ensure smooth perioperative care.
