Seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Surgeon to provide locum tenens inpatient coverage in Tucson, AZ, from Feb 12–Aug 31, 2026. This supplemental, call-only assignment supports a Level III trauma pediatric surgery service (33 beds) using Epic. Temporary privileges are available; travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered.

Clinical duties and expectations

Call coverage (beeper) with a 30-minute response time; callback compensation 30%
Anticipated phone consults: ~3/day; patient volume: ~2/day with ~1 admission/day
Resident/teaching supervision required
Support staff: 2 RNs

Required procedural scope

Pediatric and neonatal general surgery
Laparoscopic procedures: appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, Nissen fundoplication
Head/neck surgery (including thyroid), chest wall/pleural procedures, breast surgery
GI endoscopy: sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy
Minor orthopedics, hand surgery
Ventilation management, chest tube and central line placement, PA catheter placement
Laser procedures (certification required)
Vascular procedures, management of abdominal wall and umbilical defects, diaphragmatic hernia repair, imperforate anus repair, PDA ligation
