Contract Psychiatrist — Adult/General Psychiatry (Houston, Harris County; Public Health Clinics & Mobile Units)

Join a team delivering psychiatric care across Harris County, Texas. You’ll provide evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for adults in a variety of settings—including public health clinics and mobile health units—working with a diverse patient population across multiple locations in Houston.

What you’ll do

• Perform psychiatric assessments and make diagnostic impressions.
• Create and manage individualized treatment plans.
• Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications.
• Conduct crisis intervention and complete risk assessments as needed.
• Provide counseling, psychoeducation, and behavioral interventions.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and other healthcare providers.
• Follow county policies and quality standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required qualifications

• MD or DO degree.
• Board certified in Psychiatry.
• Active, unrestricted Texas medical license.
• Current DEA registration.
• ACLS certification (AHA).
• Minimum three years of recent, full-time clinical experience in psychiatry.
• Valid Texas driver’s license.
