Locum Tenens Cardiac Surgery APP (NP/PA)

We are seeking a Cardiac Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) for a full-time locum tenens opportunity to support a busy cardiac surgery service.

Overview

• Start ASAP
• Ongoing assignment
• Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
• Potential weekday night call (OR emergencies only)
• Possible 24-hour weekend call (7a–7a) for OR emergencies and limited discharge support
• EMR: Epic Bridges

Clinical Responsibilities

• ICU rounding on post-operative patients
• OR first assist and vein harvesting
• Inpatient consults from hospital floors and cardiac cath lab
• Outpatient clinic (typically 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM):
  • Wound checks, pre/post-op visits
  • Aneurysm evaluations (annual)
  • Wound vac placement, suture/staple removal
  • Occasional telephone/video visits
• Shared clinic charting with supervising MD
• Case mix includes CABG, AVR, MVR, TVR, convergence procedures, pericardial window, myxoma removal and wire removal

Requirements

• Board Certified NP or PA
• Minimum 2 years of experience (cardiac surgery preferred)
• Inpatient and outpatient experience required
• OR assist and vein harvesting strongly preferred
• Active Pennsylvania license (IMLC accepted)
• DEA required
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS
