Locums Hematology Oncology Physician

We are seeking a Locums Hematology Oncology Physician to provide outpatient medical oncology and hematology coverage in Torrington, Connecticut. This opportunity is ideal for a physician with strong hematology experience who is comfortable managing pre-chemotherapy evaluations and surveillance visits in an office-based setting.

Compensation:  $250 Per Hour

 

Position Details

 

• Practice Setting: Outpatient Oncology Office
• Schedule: 3 days per week
• Call Requirement: 1 week per month

 

Clinical Focus

 

• Pre-chemotherapy evaluations
• Surveillance and follow-up oncology visits
• Management of hematologic and oncologic conditions
• Coordination of chemotherapy and immunotherapy care

 

Patient Volume

 

• Average Patients per Day: 12–16 (office-based)

 

Responsibilities

 

• Conduct pre-chemotherapy and treatment clearance visits
• Provide ongoing surveillance and follow-up care for oncology patients
• Manage hematology consults and longitudinal care
• Oversee and support chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatment plans
• Collaborate with infusion staff, APPs, and multidisciplinary oncology teams
• Document all patient encounters accurately and timely in the EMR

 

Requirements

 

• Completion of a Medical Oncology or Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship
• Strong hematology experience required
• Proficiency in chemotherapy and immunotherapy management
• Active Connecticut medical license or IMLC eligibility
• Board Certified or Board Eligible preferred
