Locums Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a Locums Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide emergency department coverage in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. This role is ideal for an experienced APP who is comfortable managing a broad range of emergency medicine cases in a community hospital setting with supportive physician collaboration.

 

Position Details

 

• Setting: Hospital-Based Emergency Department
• Shift Schedule: 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. (daily)
• Weekend Requirements: None
• On-Call Requirements: None
• Trauma Level: Provisional Level IV

 

Emergency Department Profile

 

• Average Patient Volume: 20 patients per day
• Annual ED Volume: ~20,000 visits
• Number of ED Beds: 25
• Admissions from ED: 8% of total hospital admissions
• ED Admission Rate: 8% of ED patients per day
• Transfer Rate: 2% of ED patients per day
• EMR: Cerner

 

Responsibilities

 

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat emergency department patients under established protocols
• Manage low- to moderate-acuity emergency cases
• Perform procedures within scope of practice
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies
• Collaborate closely with emergency physicians, nursing staff, and consultants
• Ensure accurate, timely documentation in Cerner

 

Requirements

 

• Board Certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
• Active Michigan license
• DEA registration
• ACLS and PALS certifications required
• Emergency Medicine experience preferred
• Provider must be local
