**Locums | Cardiothoracic Surgery APP | Inpatient + Call | Tacoma, WA (IMLC considered)**
**Why This Role**
- Immediate need due to staff retirement with ongoing coverage opportunity
- High-acuity cardiothoracic service with experienced surgeon support
- Opportunity to work in a major regional cardiovascular surgery program
**Assignment Details**
- Start Date: ASAP, pending credentialing
- End Date: Ongoing
- FTE: 1.0
- Schedule:
- Monday–Friday with variable hours, generally 7:00a–3:00p
- Call days may extend to 10–12+ hours
- Weekend call required on a rotating basis
- Call Structure: Approximately 1:6 nights and 1:6 weekends
**Clinical Details**
- Practice Setting: Inpatient cardiothoracic surgery service
- Average Volume: Approximately 20 adult patients per day
- Cases: 6–8 cardiac cases per week and 9–12 thoracic cases per week
- Services Include:
- Pre- and post-operative patient management
- OR first assist
- Coronary artery bypass and valve surgeries
- Aortic and aortic arch reconstruction
- Robotic-assisted thoracic surgery
- VATS and DaVinci thoracic procedures
- Endoscopic vein and radial artery harvest
- ICU and step-down management
- Emergent bedside procedures
- Daily rounds, discharges, and clinic wound checks
- EMR: Epic
- Support Staff: RN support, established APP team
- Surgeon Team: 5 surgeons (3 cardiac, 2 thoracic)
**Requirements**
- Board Certified APP
- Minimum 3 years of cardiothoracic surgery experience
- Robotic thoracic surgery experience required
- ACLS, BLS, and DEA required
- Active Washington license preferred; IMLC considered
- Clean malpractice history required
- NPDB self-query required within 30 days of presentation
**Compensation**
- Rates: Facility is accepting bids
- Malpractice: Provided
- Travel: Reimbursed
