Join a busy inpatient cardiology team in Scranton, PA, covering supplemental locum tenens call. Coverage begins March 23, 2026 and is ongoing; this assignment is call-only with 24-hour shifts (7a–7a) on a 1:3 beeper call schedule. Response time is 30 minutes; expected callback volume is about 20%.
What you’ll cover
- Adult inpatient cardiology service (department ~100 beds)
- Typical shift patient volume: ~20 patients
- Phone consults: ~15 per shift
- Admissions: ~8 per shift
- Rounding required
- Supervision of APPs (support staff: APPs)
Procedures and clinical support
- Inpatient cardiology and ICU non-invasive procedures
- Echocardiography and transesophageal echo (TEE)
- Nuclear cardiology (Cardiolyte, thallium, etc.)
- STEMI coverage
- EMR: Cerner
Logistics and support
- Temporary privileges available
- Travel, lodging, and and malpractice insurance provided
Requirements
- Active Pennsylvania medical license or participation in IMLC
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology
- BLS and ACLS certifications
