Join a cardiothoracic surgery team in Richland, WA, as a locum tenens NP providing both inpatient and outpatient care. This role runs from Apr 24 – Jul 18, 2026 and serves as supplemental clinical coverage with call responsibilities.

Schedule and duties

• Outpatient clinic: full-time OP schedule with routine inpatient rounding.
• Surgical assist days: Tue & Thu, 8:00 am–5:00 pm (2–4 days/month).
• OR assistance and acute surgical care: roughly 10–12 days/month.
• Call: beeper coverage for nights and weekends (7–8 days/month). Call includes inpatient rounding and first-assist callback with a 20-minute response expectation.

Patient population and volume

• Adult patients (trauma level II facility).
• Average patient volume: about 8 patients.
• Rounding is included.

Team and support

• Two physicians and two APPs on staff.
• Support team includes 1 RN, 1 MA, and 1 surgery scheduler.
• Onsite lab and x-ray, six exam rooms.
• Procedures include surgical and acute care.

Logistics and requirements

• EMR: Epic.
• Hospital privileges required.
• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered.
• Required credentials: active WA license, board certification, BLS and ACLS, and DEA.
