Requirements
- Current, unrestricted California RN license
- BLS (AHA)
- Minimum 1 year nursing experience (clinical or correctional experience preferred)
Key Responsibilities
- Administer medications (oral, intradermal, subcutaneous, intramuscular) and assist with pill line distribution
- Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive nursing care to inmates
- Obtain medical histories, perform patient assessments, and order/interpret labs and x‑rays as authorized
- Perform venipuncture for laboratory specimens
- Follow infection control policies and maintain patient privacy and confidentiality (HIPAA)
- Collaborate with staff and consulting physicians to plan, implement, evaluate, and revise care plans
- Assess facility conditions, resources, and policies affecting health care delivery
- Provide nursing care within scope of licensure and in compliance with legal, ethical, and institutional standards
