Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
Call: Weekday nights (3–4 nights/week) and 24-hour weekend call; call ratio 1:4
Coverage type: Clinical + call
EMR: Epic

Patient/Volume:

• Daily census: ~20 patients
• Cardiac: 6–8 cases/week
• Thoracic: 9–12 cases/week (≈90% robotic-assisted)

Team:

• Surgeons: 3 cardiac, 2 thoracic
• Advanced practice: 3 PAs, 1 NP
• Support: RNs

Key responsibilities:

• Pre-op and post-op patient evaluation and management
• OR first assist for CABG and valve surgeries
• Robotic-assisted thoracic surgery support and management
• Vein and artery harvest
• Perform emergent procedures (e.g., chest tubes, arterial lines)
• Daily rounds, discharges, clinic wound checks

Requirements:

• Active Washington state license
• Board certified
• DEA registration
• ACLS and BLS
• Clean professional record
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in cardiovascular/cardiothoracic surgery
