Adelphi is looking for experienced Registered Nurses to join the health care team at a correctional facility in Herlong, California. You’ll deliver compassionate, professional nursing care to inmate patients while following legal, ethical, and institutional guidelines.

What we’re looking for

• Current, unrestricted RN license in California or Nevada
• BLS (AHA) certification
• Minimum of 3 years’ nursing experience

Core responsibilities

• Administer medications by mouth, intradermal, subcutaneous, and intramuscular routes and assist with medication distribution during pill line
• Monitor patients’ responses to therapy and document findings
• Perform skin testing and venipuncture to obtain lab specimens
• Take medical histories, perform physical assessments, and order/interpret labs and x-rays as appropriate
• Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive care tailored to the correctional setting
• Follow infection control policies and maintain patient privacy and confidentiality
• Collaborate with staff and consulting physicians to plan, implement, evaluate, and revise patient care and program plans
• Contribute to determining the conditions, resources, and policies needed for effective health care delivery
• Practice within the legal and ethical scope of your licensure and institutional standards
