Director of Nursing (RN) — Days | St. Ignace, MI

We’re looking for an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to lead clinical care in St. Ignace, MI. This full-time Director-level role starts ASAP and follows a day schedule (7:00 AM–5:00 PM, 8-hour shifts) with weekend coverage as needed. You’ll be a visible, hands-on leader who supports staff, ensures regulatory compliance, and helps maintain high-quality resident care.

What you’ll bring

• Active Michigan Registered Nurse license (verified by Nursys) and current BLS certification.
• Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing strongly preferred.
• 3–5+ years of nursing experience with prior DON or Assistant DON experience.
• Strong servant leadership, sound decision-making, and the ability to be a positive role model for staff.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable coaching and mentoring teams.
• Knowledge of long-term care regulations and standards, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Infection Preventionist Certification, or willingness to obtain it within 6 months of hire (CMS offers a free program).
• Experience with Matrix EMR is highly preferred.

What you’ll do

• Oversee nursing operations and ensure care delivery meets regulatory and facility standards.
• Support and develop nursing staff through coaching, direction, and performance oversight.
• Coordinate infection prevention and control activities, quality initiatives, and documentation.
• Serve as a resource for clinical decisions and help resolve complex resident care issues.
