Adelphi seeks a licensed MD or DO with residency training in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine for a full‑time, short‑term outpatient assignment (minimum 2 months) in Starr County, Texas. The clinician will deliver direct primary care, manage chronic and complex medical conditions, and support behavioral health needs in a high‑volume community clinic.

Required qualifications

  • MD or DO with residency in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
  • Current Texas medical license in good standing; board eligible in Family or Internal Medicine
  • Active DEA, NPI, and CPR/BLS certifications
  • ECFMG certificate if applicable
  • Ability to meet facility and agency immunization, drug screening, fingerprinting, and training requirements prior to start
  • Experience managing chronic medical conditions in an outpatient setting
  • Experience with behavioral health patients
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred

Core responsibilities

  • Provide onsite, direct outpatient care for new, established, follow‑up, and walk‑in/triage patients
  • Obtain histories, perform physicals, evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic conditions using evidence‑based practices
  • Manage patients with complex medical and behavioral health needs and develop individualized treatment/disease management plans
  • Order, review, and interpret labs and diagnostic studies (including radiology)
  • Accurately document all care in the electronic medical record within required timelines and submit electronic prescriptions per protocol
  • Participate in quality improvement, regulatory compliance, credentialing/privileging processes, and assigned disaster/COOP activities
  • Provide minor work‑related injury treatment when requested and perform other duties as assigned under the supervision of the Medical Director or Chief of Medical Services
