Coverage period and schedule:

• Ongoing coverage beginning March 1, 2026
• Minimum commitment: 2 weeks per month (weeks need not be consecutive)
• Coverage weeks must be Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Patient population and volume:

• Adults
• Surgical case days average ~25 cases/day
• Admissions as indicated by surgical cases
• Rounding and phone consults included as clinically appropriate

Case mix and required procedures:

• General surgery with significant endoscopy volume
• Required: upper endoscopy (EGD), lower endoscopy (colonoscopy), general surgical procedures typical for a critical access setting

Facility resources:

• Standard OR and clinic equipment
• RN and OR support staff available

Privileges, credentialing, and compliance:

• Hospital privileges required
• Credentialing timeline: approximately 60 days

Compensation and benefits:

• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance covered

Minimum qualifications:

• Active Oregon medical license
• Board Certified in Surgery
• Active DEA
• Certifications as required for hospital privileges
• General surgery experience including endoscopy
• Ability to support program rebuild with initially lower volumes

Primary duties:

• Perform general surgical procedures in the OR
• Perform upper and lower endoscopic procedures (significant portion of practice)
• Evaluate and treat clinic patients on scheduled clinic days
• Admit, round on, and provide follow-up care for surgical patients
• Collaborate with hospital staff to reestablish and grow surgical services
