We’re seeking an interventional radiologist to provide locum tenens coverage in Boise, Idaho, supporting both inpatient and outpatient services. This is clinical work with in-house call responsibilities, starting April 1, 2026 with ongoing spring coverage. Typical weekday hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. while weeknight evenings and weekends require in-house call.
Coverage windows (spring):
- March 16–22, 2026
- March 30–April 5, 2026
- April 27–May 3, 2026
- May 18–24, 2026
Ongoing coverage begins April 1, 2026.
Patients and case mix
- Adult patient population.
- High-acuity IR practice with frequent trauma and vascular cases.
- Weeknight call averages 0–1 callbacks per shift; weekend call averages 3–4 interventions.
- Admissions are part of the role and phone consults are included as part of call coverage.
Facility and team
- Fully equipped interventional radiology suites and multispecialty acute care backup.
- On-site radiology technologists, nursing staff, and clinical support.
- This engagement is providing supplemental spring staffing.
Required procedures (examples expected during coverage)
- Trauma embolization (body)
- Pulmonary thrombectomy
- Gastric tube placement
- Biliary and cholecystostomy tube placement
- Nephrostomy and ureteral stenting
- Dialysis graft and fistula stenting
- Body arteriography
- IVC filter placement and removal
Credentials and requirements
- Active Idaho medical license or IMLC eligibility in hand.
- Board certified or eligible in Interventional Radiology.
- DEA registration as required for practice.
- Facility-required certifications and credentialing.
- Experience in acute care interventional radiology with trauma exposure and the ability to manage high-acuity call coverage.
Responsibilities
- Provide in-house weekday clinical coverage and evening/weekend call.
- Perform a full range of acute care interventional procedures and respond to urgent/emergent callbacks.
- Collaborate closely with trauma, surgical, and medical teams.
- Accurately document procedures and clinical encounters in the medical record.
