Location: Pembroke, NC | Start: ASAP | Duration: 13 weeks | Schedule: 07:00 AM–07:30 PM | Rate: Travel $1,321/36 hours | Type: Contract/Travel

Requirements:

  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license for the state of North Carolina
  • BLS certification

Overview:
Provide hands-on nursing care under RN or physician supervision in a fast-paced clinical setting. Deliver safe, patient-centered care, maintain accurate documentation, and collaborate with the care team to support positive outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform focused patient assessments, record medical histories, and contribute to individualized care plans
  • Administer medications and treatments according to orders and protocols, ensuring correct dosing and documentation
  • Monitor and document vital signs and patient condition changes; escalate concerns appropriately
  • Perform wound care, dressing changes, and monitor for signs of infection or complications
  • Initiate, maintain, and monitor IV therapy and urinary catheter care as indicated
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing
  • Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures
  • Assist with mobility, positioning, comfort measures, and pain management
  • Respond to emergencies using established protocols and basic life support when needed
  • Adhere to infection control practices, safe medication handling, and regulatory guidelines
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs, and other staff to ensure coordinated care; may supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned
  • Maintain professional development by participating in ongoing training and staying current with nursing best practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

This position requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
