We’re looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse to join a team in Pembroke, NC on a 13-week contract starting ASAP. This is a travel/contract position with a night shift schedule (07:00 PM–07:30 AM). Pay is listed as Travel: $1,321/36-hours.

What you’ll need

  • Current, active LPN license for the state
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

What you’ll be doing
You’ll provide hands-on nursing care under the direction of RNs and physicians. Daily responsibilities include administering medications and IVs, performing wound care, monitoring and documenting vital signs, and completing focused patient assessments. You’ll develop and follow individualized care plans, collect specimens for lab testing, and assist patients with mobility, positioning, comfort, and pain management.

You’ll also:

  • Accurately administer prescribed treatments and ensure proper dosing and documentation
  • Manage wound care, monitor for infection, and change dressings as needed
  • Insert, assess, and maintain urinary catheters and IV lines, watching carefully for complications
  • Keep thorough, timely patient records and communicate condition changes to the healthcare team
  • Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, and self-care to support recovery and wellness
  • Respond quickly in emergencies and provide basic life support according to facility protocols
  • Follow strict infection control practices, including hand hygiene and PPE use
  • Safely handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies per regulations
  • Promote preventive care such as vaccinations and screenings, and advocate for patient rights and needs
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to ensure coordinated care
  • Occasionally supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when required
  • Stay up to date on best practices, policies, and continuing education
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
