Join our team in Pembroke, NC for a 13-week contract as a Licensed Practical Nurse. This role starts ASAP with a day shift schedule (07:00 AM–03:30 PM) and pays $1,321 for a 36-hour week.

What we need

  • Current, active LPN license for the state
  • BLS certification

What you’ll be doing
You’ll provide hands-on nursing care under the direction of RNs and physicians. Your responsibilities will include medication administration, wound care, routine assessments, and monitoring vital signs. You’ll also:

  • Perform focused patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and help develop individualized care plans
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately, following protocols and documenting appropriately
  • Evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor wounds for signs of infection or complications
  • Record and track vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respirations) and report changes in condition
  • Maintain clear, detailed patient records about treatments, responses, and medication administration
  • Teach patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care to support recovery and prevention
  • Start, monitor, and maintain IVs and IV medications when required, ensuring line integrity and proper infusion
  • Provide catheter care—insert, maintain, and watch for related complications
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing
  • Work collaboratively with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care
  • Assist with patient comfort and safety (positioning, mobility assistance, pain management)
  • Respond promptly in emergencies and provide basic life support as needed
  • Follow strict infection control practices, including hand hygiene and PPE use
  • Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies safely and per regulations
  • Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and support health assessments
  • Advocate for patients to ensure they receive appropriate care and resources
  • Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned
  • Stay up to date on nursing best practices and complete required training
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
