Location: Mount Olive, NC | Type: Contract (Non-Travel) | Start: ASAP | Duration: 13 weeks | Shift: 07:00 AM–07:30 PM | Rate: Local $1,008 / 36 hours

Requirements:

  • Active LPN license in the state of practice
  • BLS certification

Overview:
Provide skilled bedside nursing under RN or physician supervision for the duration of the assignment. Deliver safe, patient-centered care while documenting accurately and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care including medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, urinary catheter care, and vital sign monitoring.
  • Conduct focused patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments per orders, ensuring correct dosing and adherence to protocols.
  • Perform wound assessment, cleaning, dressing changes, and monitor for infection or complications.
  • Obtain and label patient specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing.
  • Monitor and document patient condition, treatments, and responses in the medical record.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
  • Assist with patient comfort and safety: positioning, mobility support, and pain management.
  • Respond to emergencies using established protocols and provide basic life support as required.
  • Follow infection control procedures and proper use of PPE.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies in accordance with policies and regulations.
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs, and other staff to coordinate care.
  • May supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel as delegated.
  • Maintain professional development and comply with regulatory and facility standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
