Location: Mount Olive, NC | Type: Contract (Non-Travel) | Start: ASAP | Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule: 07:00 AM – 07:30 PM | Rate: Local: $1,008 / 36 hours

Requirements:

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
  • BLS certification

Overview:
Provide skilled, patient-centered nursing care under the direction of RNs and physicians. The role emphasizes accurate medication and treatment administration, thorough assessments, diligent documentation, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team to promote safe, effective outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct nursing care including medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, catheter care, and vital signs monitoring.
  • Conduct focused patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care planning.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and document patient status, treatments, and responses to interventions clearly and promptly.
  • Perform wound assessment and management, observing for infection or complications.
  • Safely administer and monitor IV medications/fluids, ensuring proper line function and maintenance.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing as indicated.
  • Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
  • Maintain infection control standards, safe handling and disposal of medications and supplies, and adherence to PPE protocols.
  • Respond to medical emergencies using established protocols and basic life support when required.
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs, and other staff to coordinate care and advocate for patient needs.
  • Supervise and support CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel as assigned.
  • Participate in ongoing education to stay current with nursing best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
