Contract LPN/LVN – Long Term Care (9-Week Travel Assignment) — Gallup, NM

Join a contract travel assignment in Gallup, NM as a Licensed Practical Nurse. This 9-week position starts ASAP with a 07:00 AM–07:00 PM schedule covering all seven days. Compensation: Travel pay of $1,523 for a 36-hour period.

Requirements:

• Active, valid LPN state license
• BLS certification

Core responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care under RN or physician supervision, including medication administration, wound care, IV management, catheter care, and vital signs monitoring.
• Conduct focused patient assessments (physical exams, histories, medication reviews) and contribute to individualized care planning.
• Administer and monitor prescribed treatments and IVs, ensuring accurate dosing and secure line function.
• Assess, clean, dress, and document wounds; monitor for infection and complications.
• Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing and maintain thorough, accurate patient records.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, self-care, and preventive measures.
• Assist with mobility, positioning, pain management, and other comfort/safety needs.
• Respond to medical emergencies following protocols and provide basic life support as required.
• Follow strict infection control practices and proper handling, storage, and disposal of medications and supplies.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (RNs, physicians, therapists, support staff) to ensure cohesive care.
• When applicable, supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel to maintain quality patient care.
• Advocate for patient rights and stay current with nursing best practices through ongoing education.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
