Contract Licensed Practical Nurse — Albuquerque, NM

Join a busy clinical team on an 8-week contract (ASAP start) in Albuquerque. Schedule: Mondays and Thursdays, 06:00 AM–06:30 PM. Compensation: Travel rate $1,015/24-hrs; Local rate $674/24-hrs.

Minimum requirements:

• Current, active LPN state license
• BLS certification

Core responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction, including medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, catheter care, and vital sign monitoring.
• Perform focused patient assessments (physical exam, medical history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
• Administer and monitor prescribed medications and IV fluids, ensuring accurate dosing and adherence to protocols.
• Evaluate, clean, dress, and document wound status; monitor for infection or complications.
• Collect and process specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing.
• Maintain accurate, timely patient documentation of assessments, treatments, and changes in condition.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, preventive care, and wellness.
• Support patient comfort and safety through positioning, mobility assistance, and pain management.
• Respond to emergencies according to established protocols and provide basic life support as needed.
• Follow strict infection control, medication handling, storage, and disposal procedures.
• Collaborate effectively with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs/UAPs, and support staff to ensure coordinated care; may supervise CNAs/UAPs when appropriate.
• Advocate for patient needs and stay current with nursing best practices through ongoing education.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
