Rate: $1,464 / 40 hours (local)
Requirements:
- Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
- BLS certification
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction: medication administration, wound care, vital signs, and basic assessments.
- Perform focused patient assessments (physical exam, medical history, medication review) and participate in individualized care planning.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately and per protocol.
- Assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds/incisions for infection or complications.
- Monitor and document vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respirations) and patient condition changes.
- Maintain accurate, timely patient records of assessments, treatments, and medication administration.
- Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and self-care.
- Administer and monitor IV medications/fluids and maintain IV lines as indicated.
- Provide catheter care, including insertion maintenance and monitoring for complications.
- Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (RNs, physicians, therapists, support staff) to coordinate care.
- Address patient comfort and safety: positioning, mobility assistance, and pain management.
- Respond to emergencies following protocols and provide basic life support as needed.
- Follow infection control procedures and proper PPE use.
- Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies per regulations.
- Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and participate in health assessments.
- Advocate for patient rights and needs.
- May supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
- Complete other duties as assigned by management.
