What you’ll need:
- Active, valid LPN license for the state.
- BLS certification.
What you’ll do:
- Provide direct nursing care under RN or physician supervision — think medication administration, wound care, vital signs, and other hands-on tasks.
- Perform patient assessments (physical exams, medical history review, medication reconciliation) and contribute to individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and according to protocol.
- Care for wounds and incisions: clean, dress, monitor for infection or complications.
- Monitor and document vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respirations) and report changes in condition.
- Keep clear, thorough patient records of treatments, medications, and clinical changes.
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive strategies.
- Administer and monitor IV medications and fluids when required, ensuring IV lines are functioning properly.
- Manage urinary catheter care, including insertion maintenance and monitoring for issues.
- Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing.
- Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists and support staff to coordinate care.
- Assist with patient comfort and safety—positioning, mobility help, and pain management.
- Respond to emergencies promptly, following protocols and providing basic life support as needed.
- Follow infection control practices (hand hygiene, PPE use) and safe handling, storage, and disposal of medications and supplies.
- Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and support health assessments.
- Advocate for patients’ needs and rights within the care team.
- Stay current with nursing standards and complete ongoing education and training.
- In some cases, supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
If you’re a dependable LPN who values teamwork, patient advocacy, and hands-on care, this role in Lebanon offers a focused short-term opportunity with predictable scheduling.
