LPN/LVN Licensed Practical Nurse – Long Term Care (Contract, Camden, ME)

We’re seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join a Camden, ME team on a 13-week contract starting ASAP. This is a local, non-travel position with a schedule that includes evenings and overnights (06:45 PM–07:15 AM). Compensation is $1,138 for 36 hours.

What you’ll need

• Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

What you’ll be doing
You’ll provide hands-on nursing care under the direction of RNs and physicians. That includes administering medications and IV fluids, performing wound care, monitoring and documenting vital signs, and completing focused patient assessments. You will educate patients and families about conditions and self-care, assist with mobility and comfort needs, and respond to emergencies following established protocols.

Other key duties:

• Create and update individualized care plans based on assessments and medical history
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and per protocol
• Evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor wounds for infection or complications
• Insert, maintain, and monitor IV lines and urinary catheters as required
• Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab analysis
• Maintain clear, timely, and accurate patient records of condition changes and interventions
• Practice and promote infection control (hand hygiene, PPE use)
• Safely handle, store, and dispose of medications and medical supplies
• Support preventive care efforts (vaccinations, screenings) and advocate for patient rights and needs
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team—RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff—for coordinated care
• Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when required
• Participate in ongoing education to stay current with nursing best practices
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management
