We’re looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse to join a Rutland, VT team on a 12-week contract starting ASAP. This is a local, non-travel position with a PM shift (2:00 PM–10:30 PM) and a pay rate of $1,244 per 40-hour week.

What we need from you:

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse license for the state.
  • Current BLS certification.

What you’ll do day to day:

  • Provide hands-on nursing care under the direction of RNs and physicians—administer medications, monitor vitals, and manage wound care.
  • Conduct patient assessments (physical exams, histories, medication reviews) and help develop individualized care plans.
  • Give medications and treatments accurately, following protocols and documenting everything clearly.
  • Assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds and surgical sites for signs of infection or complications.
  • Track and record vital signs—blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiratory rate—and report changes.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing and ensure proper handling.
  • Start, monitor, and maintain IV lines and IV medications when required.
  • Care for patients with urinary catheters, including insertion oversight, maintenance, and complication monitoring.
  • Support patient comfort and safety with positioning, mobility assistance, and pain management.
  • Educate patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care to promote recovery and wellness.
  • Respond quickly and appropriately to emergencies, providing basic life support as needed.
  • Follow strict infection control practices, including hand hygiene and PPE use.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies safely and in compliance with regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team—RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff—to ensure coordinated care.
  • Advocate for patients’ needs and rights, and help promote preventive care like vaccinations and screenings.
  • Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when required to maintain high-quality patient care.
  • Stay current with nursing best practices and complete required education and training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
