Requirements

• Active LPN license for state of practice
• BLS certification

Scope of Work

• Provide direct nursing care under RN or physician direction: medication administration, wound care, vital signs, and basic treatments.
• Conduct patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and implement assigned care plans.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately, following protocols.
• Manage wounds and dressings; monitor for infection or complications.
• Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient condition.
• Maintain accurate patient records of assessments, interventions, and medications.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and discharge instructions.
• Administer and monitor IV medications/fluids; ensure proper IV line function.
• Provide catheter care, including insertion (if within scope), maintenance, and complication monitoring.
• Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing.
• Assist with patient mobility, positioning, pain management, and comfort measures.
• Respond to emergencies and provide basic life support as needed.
• Follow infection control and PPE protocols.
• Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies per regulations.
• Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and participate in health assessments.
• Advocate for patient needs and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team (RNs, physicians, therapists, support staff).
• May supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
