Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner – Liver & Pancreas Surgery (Atlanta, GA)

We’re seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join the Liver and Pancreas Surgery team in Atlanta, GA on a locum tenens basis from March 2, 2026 through May 29, 2026. This is clinical-only coverage with a Monday–Friday schedule, working four 10-hour days (8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.). Immediate start is requested to help manage an increased patient volume and cover leave.

You’ll be caring for adult liver and pancreas surgical patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Typical duties include inpatient rounding and admissions, supporting clinic visits and follow-ups, and handling phone consults as clinically appropriate. You’ll document all encounters in the EMR and collaborate closely with surgeons, APPs, nursing staff, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure smooth continuity of care during heightened volume and staff absences. Case mix centers on liver and pancreas surgical cases; inpatient volumes follow hospital census and the clinic sees about 1,525 patients per day.

This role requires an active Georgia NP license, national NP certification, and DEA registration as appropriate for inpatient and outpatient practice. Credentialing must meet Northside Hospital standards, and hospital privileges are required. Surgical service or inpatient APP experience is preferred. Standard inpatient and clinic equipment will be available, and you’ll have specialty backup from the liver and pancreas surgical team plus on-site physicians, APPs, and nursing staff.
