Locum Tenens opportunity in Boscobel, WI — start ASAP for 26 weeks. Schedule: 08:00 AM–04:30 PM. Rate: $80/hr.

Overview:
Provide comprehensive primary care to persons in custody within a correctional health setting. Deliver preventive, acute, and chronic care while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support reentry and evidence-based practices.

Requirements:

• Active Wisconsin RN license and Nurse Practitioner certification with prescriptive authority.
• Current DEA registration and BLS certification.
• Strong knowledge of advanced nursing theory, pharmacology, diagnostics, and correctional healthcare.
• Ability to work independently, manage a broad case mix, and respond appropriately in emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform histories and physical exams, assess health status, and establish medical diagnoses.
• Prescribe and monitor medications; order, review, and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Manage preventive care, acute conditions, and chronic disease in the custody population.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff training, and patient education.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to advance the Department of Corrections’ reentry efforts and evidence-based care programs.
