Job Description
We're seeking an experienced OB/GYN to provide locum tenens call coverage in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. This inpatient position begins May 19, 2026 and is ongoing, covering supplemental needs with a beeper call model. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are provided.
What you'll be covering
- Call-only coverage with a 24-hour call shift and a 30-minute response time
- Call frequency: 1:3 call ratio; one weekend per month required (specifics: May 19–26 initially)
- Phone consults: approximately 10–15 per shift
- Patient volume: typically 10–15 patients with up to 10 admissions per call
- Rounding is included
- Department: 12 beds, Trauma Level I
- Annual deliveries at the facility: ~1,200
Clinical responsibilities
- Manage low-risk pregnancies and routine as well as complicated deliveries
- Fetal heart rate interpretation and screening OB ultrasounds
- Perform repair of 3rd- and 4th-degree lacerations as needed
Support and systems
- Support staff on site: 5 RNs, 1 MA, 1 APP
- EMR system: Cerner
- Temporary privileges available for the assignment
Requirements
- Active Missouri medical license
- Board certified (BC)
- ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
