Overview:
Seeking a Board Certified OB/GYN for locum tenens call-only coverage to provide supplemental inpatient obstetric and gynecologic care. Coverage is for 24-hour beeper call with a 20-minute response time. Temporary privileges available; travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance provided.

Coverage window:

• April 10, 2026 through April 27, 2026
• Required call dates/shifts: April 10 (8:00 AM), April 13 (8:00 AM), April 24 (8:00 AM), April 27 (8:00 AM)

Clinical expectations:

• Provide emergent OB/GYN coverage, admissions, and rounding
• Manage obstetric and gynecologic patients (Level I nursery; no NICU)
• Average volume: ~27 deliveries/month (≈13 deliveries per 24 hours), ~11 C-sections/month
• Supported by nursing staff, hospitalist service, 24/7 anesthesia, and radiology

Procedures and skills required:

• Management of low‑risk and complicated vaginal deliveries, including low forceps
• Vaginal births after cesarean (VBAC), breech, multiple gestations, abruptions
• Perform cesarean deliveries and make operative decision‑making for C‑sections
• Repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations
• Amniocentesis; OB ultrasound (Level I & II); NST/CST/FSE interpretation
• Minor and operative gynecology (open surgical gynecology)
• Laparoscopic diagnostic/minor procedures (tubal ligation, LOA)
• Major operative cases including ectopic pregnancy, oophorectomy, cystectomy, extensive LOA
• Laser certification preferred/required

• Call type: 24-hour beeper
• Call response time: 20 minutes

Credentialing and requirements:

• Active North Carolina medical license and NC DEA with NC address
• Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology
• NC Medicaid credentialed; current Medicare/PECOS enrollment
• Actively delivering babies (case logs from past 12–24 months required)
• Clean malpractice history (no recent or open cases); self‑query NPDB report within 30 days
• Fully vaccinated
