Locum Tenens OB/GYN — Inpatient/Outpatient, 700 Aannual Deliveries, Full OR & 24/7 Support (Enterprise, AL)

Join a busy inpatient/outpatient OB/GYN practice in Enterprise, Alabama, providing supplemental locum tenens coverage beginning April 2026 and ongoing. Clinical responsibilities include scheduled shifts Monday–Thursday (8:00 AM–4:30 PM) with 24-hour beeper call coverage Monday–Thursday and weekend 24-hour call Friday–Monday (7:00 AM–7:00 AM). Call ratio is 1:1 with a 30-minute response expectation.

Clinical environment and volume

• Service setting: inpatient and outpatient with full nursing and OR support
• Patient volume: average census ~15; 700 annual deliveries (1–2 deliveries/day)
• Typical daily/weekly activity: 1–2 admissions, ~2 phone consults, routine rounding included
• Facilities: 11 exam rooms, 2 ultrasound rooms, 1 dedicated procedure room, 9 department beds, Trauma Level III
• EMR: Athena/Medhost

Scope of practice and procedures

• Low- and high-risk pregnancy management, fetal heart rate interpretation, NST/CST/FSE
• OB ultrasound: Level I (viability) and Level II (anatomic) — performance and interpretation
• Amniocentesis and in-office procedures (colposcopy, LEEP, hysteroscopy, IUD/Nexplanon insertion)
• Routine and complicated deliveries: vaginal, low forceps, breech, multiple births, abruptions, VBACs, decision-making for and performance of C-sections
• Repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations
• Office/minor gynecology: IUD, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, etc.
• Surgical gynecology: open and laparoscopic diagnostic/minor procedures (tubal ligation, adhesiolysis), operative/major cases (ectopic pregnancy, oophorectomy, cystectomy, extensive adhesiolysis)
• Laser-certified in-office procedures optional

Support and backup

• 2 MAs, 1 NP/PA, 1 office staff plus full nursing and OR teams
• Pediatric hospitalist coverage available
• 24/7 anesthesia and radiology coverage
• Dedicated OR block time available
• Option to expand assignment to include weekend-only, weekday call, clinic responsibilities, or a full 24/7 schedule

Requirements

• Active Alabama medical license or participation in IMLC
• BC/BE in Obstetrics & Gynecology
• Current BLS, PALS, ACLS certifications
