Locum Tenens Primary Care Physician (Family Practice) — Correctional Facility, Bruceton Mills WV

We’re looking for a dedicated Family Practice physician to provide primary care in a correctional facility in Bruceton Mills, West Virginia. This locum tenens opportunity could lead to a long-term contract and begins 4/22/2026. You’ll work a clinical, Monday–Friday schedule (40 hours/week) caring for adult patients in custody.

What the role looks like:

• Clinical coverage in a correctional facility setting with the potential to transition into a longer-term arrangement.
• Typical duties include primary care and management of acute illnesses and traumas, with responsibility for lifesaving interventions when needed.
• Minor procedures commonly performed: incision and drainage, suturing lacerations, cyst removal, and removal/repair of ingrown toenails.
• Patient volume, phone consults, admissions, rounding, support staff, and specialty backup details to be confirmed.
• EMR, office equipment, and bed counts to be confirmed.

Schedule and population:

• Start date: 4/22/2026
• Coverage: Clinical, Mon–Fri, 40 hours/week
• Patient demographics: Adults in custody

What we provide:

Qualifications:

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory.
• BLS and ACLS certification from AHA or ARC.
• At least one year of clinical experience in emergency, acute, ambulatory/outpatient, psychiatric, and/or medical/surgical care.
• Prior experience delivering care in a correctional setting is preferred but not required.
