Requirements:

  • Valid state license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist or proof of eligibility
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or eligibility to participate as an ASHA Clinical Fellow
  • Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in speech-language pathology across areas including cognitive-communication, speech intelligibility, oral-motor function, swallowing disorders, perception, orientation, memory, pragmatics, psychosocial communication, functional communication, and case management.
  • Develop, implement, document, and revise individualized treatment plans; perform routine re-examinations and adjust plans as needed.
  • Screen for hearing deficits and coordinate/referral for audiological assessment and rehabilitation.
  • Recommend, instruct in, and coordinate use of adaptive communication devices.
  • Select and adapt therapeutic activities to match patients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional needs; instruct patients and caregivers in therapeutic techniques and evaluate progress.
  • Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team and referring physicians; refer patients to other disciplines or agencies as appropriate.
  • Attend and contribute to patient care conferences, clinical meetings, and department-related meetings.
  • Maintain required clinical and billing documentation and adhere to department schedules and meeting commitments.
  • Supervise Clinical Fellows (CFYs), temporary licensees, students, and support personnel per state licensure and professional standards.
  • Manage equipment and supplies: order, maintain/clean, report repair needs, and ensure a safe environment by identifying and eliminating hazards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
